KTR accuses Rahul Gandhi of being a 'MLA thief' after court denies his challenge

Following the Supreme Court's dismissal of Danam Nagendra's plea, K.T. Rama Rao intensified his criticism of Congress stalwart Rahul Gandhi. On the social media platform X, KTR posted a direct rebuke, calling Gandhi a "MLA thief" and asserting that the leader had attempted to exploit a defection‑derived mandate for personal gain.

The court's refusal to overturn the Telangana High Court's order means Danam's disqualification remains in force, and the Khairatabad assembly seat stays vacant pending a by‑poll. KTR argued that Gandhi and Chief Minister Revant Reddy had banked on the possibility of reversing the anti‑defection verdict, a hope that was now extinguished.

KTR warned that the electorate of Khairatabad would soon render its verdict on what he described as "betrayal, unfulfilled promises, and misgovernance". He added that the political fallout would continue, with more "wickets" expected to fall as the opposition grapples with the court's firm stance.

The BRS chief concluded his statement by urging voters to hold the opposition accountable and emphasized that the Supreme Court's decision reinforces the sanctity of the anti‑defection law.
