Odisha’s Koyzar village sees rise of a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ through NRLM

Jyotsna Rani Mahanta, a resident of Govindpur in Koyzar district, Odisha, is now celebrated as a “Lakhpati Didi”. She received a Rs 1 lakh loan under the scheme, purchased a sewing machine and began a tailoring business that quickly turned profitable. “Earlier, managing the household was a daily struggle,” she explained. “Now I earn enough to support my family and even extend credit to neighbours.”

Jyotsna offered a personal thank‑you to Prime Minister Modi, wishing him long life and continued service to the nation.
