Korba Residents Evacuated as Hasdev River Overflows

Heavy rains and the controlled release of stored water have forced the Hasdev River in Korba to overflow its banks, inundating houses in the Siṭāmaṇī area. Rescue squads, supported by the district disaster management authority, are evacuating residents, setting up relief camps, and distributing blankets and dry rations. The outflow from Bango Dam is measured at about 41,000 cubic feet per second, and the Darri Baraj gate remains open, adding to the rising water levels.
