Investigators revealed that the two gunmen had been linked to a series of robberies in the Nanpara and Matira districts over the past few days. The victims reported that the attackers, both on a motorcycle, seized valuable jewellery, including mangalsutras, before fleeing. The police had already released a CCTV still of Fulli, prompting a focused manhunt that culminated in the night‑time encounter.
