Kishore Threatens Government Over Police Action, Vows Employment for 10,000 Families

Patna, August 13 – In a sharp address to voters in Banki Pur, Jan Suraj Party leader and MLA Prashant Kishore condemned the Bihar government's recent aid to a member of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari’s family as insufficient without a full accountability process. He insisted that those who allegedly ordered the police firing must be identified and prosecuted.

Kishore demanded that a judicial inquiry determine individual liability and that courts deliver appropriate punishment to any guilty parties. He also questioned the selective nature of the assistance, pointing to the lack of similar support for families of other youths killed in police encounters, notably the family of Bunty Yadav.

The remarks followed a celebratory gathering in Ward No. 16, where supporters weighed Kishore’s weight with laddus before he thanked constituents for their decisive victory. He stressed that a job offer and financial compensation cannot heal the grief of losing a loved one, and that the real issue lies in holding the police accountable for alleged excesses.

Targeting Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Kishore claimed the election result in Banki Pur has forced the state to reconsider its stance on police encounters and will increase pressure on the government to answer pending questions.

He also raised concerns about rising private‑school fees, including re‑admission and uniform costs, arguing they place an undue burden on families. Kishore said he would meet school administrators to push for reduced fees, citing education as a chief priority.

He promised that government schools in the area will see visible quality improvements by Dussehra next year. If the promised upgrades fail, he pledged to enroll affected children in private schools at the state’s expense.

Regarding employment, Kishore announced a goal to secure at least one job for each of the 10,000 families in his constituency, focusing on educated youths currently unemployed.
