Kheda calls out gender gap in literacy and safety concerns in Pune

The MP highlighted a 16‑percentage gap between male and female literacy rates, accusing political opponents of conspiring to keep girls out of schools and colleges. He recalled an incident in Pune where ABVP members allegedly entered a girls’ hostel, describing it as an intimidation tactic meant to confine young women within four walls.

Kheda said the real threat to women is male ego, not men themselves, and that this ego must be challenged to open colleges, jobs, policy rooms and politics to women.
