Key Infrastructure Works Highlighted in Modi’s Rajasthan‑Gujarat Tour

During his July 4 visit to Rajasthan and Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spotlight several flagship infrastructure projects.

In Jodhpur, the newly built ₹480 crore terminal will be opened. Spread over 23,000 sq m, the facility is designed to serve 20 lakh passengers a year and blends traditional Rajasthani arches with modern amenities, while meeting green‑building criteria.

Balotra will see the launch of India’s first greenfield integrated refinery‑petrochemical complex, a joint venture between HPCL and the Rajasthan government. With a refining capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and petrochemical output of 2.4 MTPA, the plant represents an investment of over ₹79,450 crore, aiming to boost energy security and create large‑scale employment.

In Jaipur, the foundation stone for Metro Phase‑2 will be laid. The 41‑km north‑south corridor will feature 36 stations, linking key locations such as Prasad Pura, the airport and major hospitals, with an estimated cost exceeding ₹13,000 crore.

Railway upgrades include the dual‑track projects on the Churu‑Sadalpur (58 km) and Churu‑Ratangarh (46 km) lines, worth about ₹900 crore, and the opening of the NH‑125A Jodhpur Ring Road Section‑2 at a cost of ₹740 crore.

Energy initiatives comprise a 1,000 MW solar park in Bikaner (₹5,500 crore) and a 300 MW solar project at Karnisar (₹5,500 crore), along with a new transmission line worth over ₹1,900 crore and a 530‑km high‑voltage network.

In Gujarat’s Sanand, the PM will inaugurate the CG‑SEM OSAT facility, a ₹7,500 crore venture under the India Semiconductor Mission, set to produce 5 billion chips annually.

These announcements underline the government’s focus on transport, energy, and high‑technology manufacturing.
