Operation at Railway Stations Reveals ₹7.56 Crore GST Fraud Across Kerala

A coordinated operation by Kerala’s GST Enforcement Wing on September 16 exposed a large‑scale fraud involving parking services at railway premises. Inspectors examined 69 sites tied to 22 operators and discovered that the turnover reported in GST returns was dramatically lower than the actual earnings, concealing roughly ₹42 crore of revenue and generating a tax shortfall of ₹7.56 crore. Multiple QR‑code payment mechanisms were used to obscure transactions. Evidence was gathered from software extracts for some operators and from books, registers and mobile chats for others. The investigation will now move to more than 1,000 parking locations in hospitals, malls and theatres.
