Karnataka Tribal Development Corporation Probe: B. Nagendra Called for Interrogation

In a continuing effort to untangle the financial web surrounding the Mahashri Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation, the Enforcement Directorate summoned former minister B. Nagendra for interrogation on Monday. The ED’s notice followed the filing of a charge sheet that accused the corporation of illegal fund transfers amounting to tens of crores. Nagendra, who resigned after facing sustained pressure from opposition parties and civil society, will be questioned on the alleged diversion of corporation money, possible laundering routes, and the involvement of corporate and banking officials. The agency has already conducted raids across several cities, frozen numerous accounts and arrested senior officials. While Nagendra was previously detained for nearly three months, he was released on bail and is currently out of custody. The ED, together with the CBI and a state Special Investigation Team, is also examining claims that a portion of the misappropriated amount was used for election‑related activities.
