Karnataka Police Investigate Death of 23‑Year‑Old Following Ganesha Statue Mishap

The Sirwar police station has opened an inquiry after a 23‑year‑old youth died while transporting a Ganesha statue in Rayachur. Officials note that the idol touched a live wire, which may have caused it to jerk and collapse onto the driver. The deceased was taken to the regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), and his remains have been forwarded for post‑mortem analysis. Investigators are also reviewing safety protocols for moving large religious idols ahead of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
