State Government Promotes Youth Engagement Through FIFA 2026 Final Screening

Karnataka’s administration is using the FIFA World Cup 2026 final as a platform to boost youth participation in sports. The Karnataka State Football Association, in cooperation with the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, will broadcast the Argentina‑Spain final at the NGV Indoor Stadium in Koramangala.

The event, slated for 12:30 AM IST on 20 July, will be open to football lovers, players, dignitaries and the broader public. The chief minister, D.K. Shivakumar, approved the live screening after receiving numerous appeals from the state’s young football community.

In his remarks, Shivakumar highlighted the need for peaceful conduct, noting that law‑enforcement agencies have installed cameras and will ensure order. He asked citizens to demonstrate the calm and courtesy that Karnataka is known for.

The chief minister called on all attendees to enjoy the game, respect the outcome and maintain sportsmanship. The government hopes the event will inspire more youngsters to engage in football and other sporting activities.
