Karnataka Government Accused of Reviving Halted Bidadi Township Scheme, Sparking Rural Unrest

Deve Gowda accused the current administration of reigniting a stalled township project that had been shelved during the previous HD Kumaraswamy ministry after mass public opposition. He highlighted that the revived plan threatens the livelihoods of 2,555 marginal and small‑scale farmers who depend on agriculture and dairy farming, producing roughly 60,000 litres of milk daily in the area. Gowda questioned why the land acquisition process was rushed just a month after the new chief minister assumed office, pointing out that earlier attempts to acquire the land had been halted by the previous government.
