Karnataka BJP Rally Forces CM to Call Special Assembly Session After 100 km Walk

Bangalore, September 6 – The Bharatiya Janata Party’s ongoing “Bellari Chalo” foot march in Karnataka reached its sixth day, covering a distance of 100 kilometres. State chief B.Y. Vijayendra launched the day's segment at Gangavathi with a solemn aarti, emphasizing that the rally is being bolstered by “unprecedented support” from all societal sections, including farmers, women, youth and the elderly.

Vijayendra said the mounting pressure has left the chief minister with little choice but to respond to the rally’s core demands: the resignation of a scandal‑tainted sports minister and the convening of a special legislative session to address the severe drought confronting the state. The chief minister announced a session slated for 21‑23 September, pledging to discuss these issues alongside other priorities.

The BJP leader highlighted that Karnataka’s populace frequently refers to the chief minister as the “real‑estate chief minister,” a label that has intensified scrutiny. He also noted the chief minister’s compelled outreach to North Karnataka, where he met with farmer groups to address irrigation concerns.

Party officials thanked every participant for helping the march achieve the 100‑kilometre milestone, portraying the event as a decisive stand against the alleged inefficiencies of the ruling administration.
