Kallakurichi Road Tragedy: Young Woman Dies on the Spot

A tragic road accident in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi district has claimed the life of a young woman bank employee. An unknown vehicle collided with her two-wheeler, and she died instantly. The vehicle's driver drove away without stopping to help.

The mishap happened near the Pathur bus stand in Ulundurpet, Kallakurichi district. The deceased, aged 25, was from Kalathur village. She worked as a temporary employee at the Indian Bank branch located in Ulundurpet.

The woman was returning to her village from Ulundurpet on her two-wheeler when the accident struck. Reports say that as she approached the bus stand, a vehicle from behind rammed into her scooter and fled the spot without stopping. She suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.

Thirunavalur police reached the scene after getting the information. They took charge of the body and transported it to the Ulundurpet government hospital for a postmortem. The accident briefly held up traffic on the Chennai-Tiruchirappalli National Highway.

When her mother learned of her daughter's death, she hurried to the location. Her heart-wrenching wailing beside her daughter's lifeless body brought tears to the eyes of those gathered there.

Police have begun an investigation and are trying to identify and arrest the driver. They are reviewing CCTV footage from the national highway to pinpoint the vehicle involved and locate the absconding driver.
