Justice With Development: Nishant Kumar on JD(U)'s 23-Year Journey
Patna, October 30: Marking the 23rd Foundation Day of the Janata Dal (United), Health Minister Nishant Kumar released a video message addressed to the party's leaders, office-bearers and workers, offering them his greetings.
Nishant Kumar said the party, founded on October 30, 2003, has completed 23 years of political work. He congratulated everyone who has contributed to the organisation during this time.
The Health Minister explained that the party's ideology draws on the values and vision of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia and Jannayak Karpoori Thakur.
He emphasised that social justice, inclusive development, socialism, secularism and good governance have remained the core of the party's political thought. In his view, these commitments have shaped the party's direction across two decades.
Nishant Kumar pointed out that Bihar has seen many important changes over this 23-year period. Since the formation of the government under Nitish Kumar's leadership in November 2005, he said, the state has worked consistently towards development alongside justice and good governance.
According to him, the Nitish Kumar government launched several historic measures in education, health, electricity, women's empowerment and social justice. Women were given reservation in panchayats and government jobs, enabling them to move forward.
He described Bihar's model of women's empowerment as a source of inspiration and an example for the entire country. He said continuous efforts have been made to include all sections of society in the mainstream of development.
The Health Minister observed that the true strength of any organisation lies in its workers. JD(U) workers, he said, have played an important role in taking the party's ideas, policies and government schemes to villages and to every social group. Their hard work has made the party strong across Bihar.
Nishant Kumar added that while remembering the path travelled so far, the party must also understand its responsibilities for the future. Keeping the organisation united, maintaining mutual coordination and staying dedicated to the values of public service, he said, are the shared responsibilities of everyone.
He concluded by calling on workers to work together to carry forward the party's ideology and the efforts made for Bihar's development under Nitish Kumar's leadership.
