JKSA calls for accountability over NEET 2026 paper leak protests

The Jammu & Kashmir Students Association placed the recent NEET‑2026 paper leak controversy at the centre of its statement, describing it as the latest episode in a series of examination irregularities that have eroded public trust. The association said the leak scandal, coupled with the heavy police response to student protests, has compounded the disappointment of millions of aspirants who have devoted years to preparation.

JKSA stressed that transparency, accountability and genuine reform are essential to restore confidence in the nation’s testing and recruitment framework. Instead of protecting the status quo, the association called on the government to address the grievances of students through constructive engagement rather than punitive action.

The organization demanded that the police deputy commissioner disclose who authorised the lathi‑charges, tear‑gas and other forceful measures against demonstrators, asserting that such actions are indefensible in a constitutional democracy.
