In a significant move against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement authorities have attached properties belonging to Sajjad Gul, the founder of The Resistance Front (TRF). The TRF, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba, is held responsible for the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attack. The attached property, a three-story residential house in Srinagar, is estimated to be worth Rs 2 crore. This action is linked to FIR No. 235/2022 under the UAPA and EIMCO Act, reflecting the government’s commitment to countering terrorism. The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) allows authorities to seize properties used for terrorist activities. Sajjad Gul, designated a terrorist by the Home Ministry in 2022, is the son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh.
