A welcome change is on the horizon for Jharkhand’s weather patterns, with temperatures set to rise from February 15 onwards. The state’s prolonged cold spell is finally easing, as confirmed by weather scientist Abhishek Anand during a Wednesday update. This warming trend stems from easing snowfalls across northern states, paving the way for milder conditions in mid and eastern India.
While short-term ups and downs in temperature are possible over the next few days, the overall trajectory points upwards. Jharkhand’s districts will experience mostly partly cloudy skies on Thursday, transitioning to clear weather by Friday. Some regions might feel daytime heat, contrasted by residual coolness elsewhere, with light morning haze likely.
Recent 24-hour extremes show Chaibasa leading at 32.4 degrees Celsius maximum, against Gumla’s low of 6.4 degrees. Wednesday brought sunny spells to Ranchi and vicinity, moderated by brisk winds that kept the warmth in check. The chill has notably softened during dawn and dusk over the past couple of days.
City-wise stats for the day: Ranchi peaked at 27°C with a low of 10.9°C; Jamshedpur at 30.4°C/12.6°C; Daltonganj 30.6°C/12.8°C; Bokaro 30.1°C/10.6°C; and Chaibasa 32.4°C/11.6°C. This meteorological shift not only heralds comfort for locals but also boosts outdoor activities as winter bids farewell.
