Voter enrolment drive: Bilingual video tutorials and AI tools deployed across districts

The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar, confirmed that a suite of AI‑based video tutorials has been released in multiple languages to aid voters in completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms. These tutorials are available on major social‑media platforms and guide users through each step of the digitisation process.

During a video‑conference with district electoral officers, EROs, AEROs, assistant electoral officers, computer operators and BLO supervisors, Kumar emphasized the importance of rapid form submission. He directed that in areas where digital entry is slow, temporary camps should be established to provide hands‑on help and ensure timely online registration.

Only Indian citizens are permitted to fill the forms; any foreign national submitting false information will face prosecution under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. The CEO also instructed that any discrepancies in existing voter ID documents be corrected at the point of enrolment rather than carried forward.

A verification meeting involving BLOs and BLA‑2 staff is slated for 14 July, after which a mandatory "Polling School" will be held at every polling station. The updated ASD‑DD list will be publicly announced to guarantee transparency and address voter concerns instantly.

Each BLO will distribute two copies of the enumeration form, pre‑printed with the voter’s name, EPIC number, address, constituency and a unique QR code. Voters must affix a recent colour passport‑size photograph, and where needed, BLOs can upload a new image via a mobile application.

The session concluded with a review of feedback from district officials, and Kumar reiterated the need for accurate, current information to be entered, matching it with previous SIR records to avoid duplication.
