In a heart-wrenching incident in Jharkhand’s Latehar district, two brothers lost their lives in a violent collision between a car and a motorcycle. The accident occurred on Saturday on the Latehar-Saryu main road, a stretch that has recently seen a rise in traffic mishaps. The victims, identified as Virendra and Surendra Oraon from Chandwa, were heading back to their village when their bike was hit by an oncoming car near Khutgari village. The force of the head-on crash was fatal, and both brothers succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the car was traveling at a high speed when it lost control and hit the motorcycle. The scene was described as gruesome, with the bike being reduced to a heap of metal. Passersby immediately gathered and attempted to help, but the impact had already claimed the lives of the two siblings. The bodies were reportedly wedged under the car’s chassis, requiring a collective effort from the gathered crowd to pull them out. Upon receiving the information, the Sadar Police Station dispatched a team to the site. Station In-charge Pramod Kumar confirmed that the police are looking into all possible factors, including vehicle speed, road conditions, and potential driver negligence. The bodies have been sent to the district hospital for autopsy, while the involved vehicles have been impounded for further forensic analysis. The tragedy has left the local community in mourning, with residents calling for stricter traffic enforcement on this dangerous route.
