Dhanbad. In Dhanbad, the Excise Department has taken a major action and seized a large quantity of illegal raw spirit. In this action taken on the basis of secret information on the instructions of the Assistant Excise Commissioner, a tanker filled with approximately 24 thousand liters of raw spirit has been apprehended.
The Excise Department team raided near GO Petrol Pump on National Highway in Kotal Adda area of Topchachi police station. During this, a tanker with Nagaland number NL-01-L-1775 was stopped and inspected, in which a large quantity of raw spirit was recovered.
During the investigation, the tanker driver was interrogated, in which he revealed that this spirit was to be supplied to counterfeit liquor traders in Giridih and Hazaribagh. As soon as this disclosure was made, the department immediately seized the tanker.
The Excise Department has arrested the accused driver and sent him to jail in judicial custody. Currently, a thorough investigation of the entire case is underway and efforts are being made to find other people involved in this illegal trade.
