Student Leader Mahato Calls Government Decision a ‘Huge Step’ After Ending Fast

Devendra Mahato described the cancellation of the contested examinations as a “huge step” taken by the Jharkhand government. He noted that the decision was difficult because recruitment and joining processes for the CGL exam had already begun and several aspirants had filed opposing pleas. Nevertheless, Mahato said a fair and transparent inquiry paved the way for this outcome. He also thanked the joint effort of ministers Irfan Ansari, Dipika Pandey, and MLA Jayaram Mahato for acknowledging the peaceful demands of the demonstrators.
