Strict Action Against Underperforming Election Staff in Ranchi

In a move to streamline the voter registration process, Ranchi DC Manjunath Bhajantri has ordered the issuance of formal notices to underperforming Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The decision came during a review of the Pre-SIR tasks, where the DC noted that several officers were failing to meet the required standards. A significant directive was issued regarding teachers serving as BLOs; those who have failed to report to their respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are to be transferred out of the city immediately. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that a pure and updated voter list is the backbone of a fair election, and therefore, the removal of names of deceased, shifted, or absent voters must be done strictly according to the established rules to maintain the integrity of the electoral roll.
