Storm System Triggers Thunderstorms and Strong Winds in Multiple Jharkhand Districts

Ranchi – A low‑pressure cell developing in the Bay of Bengal is driving a volatile weather spell over Jharkhand for five consecutive days. From 21 to 25 September, the state can expect rain, lightning and wind speeds that may top 50 km/h in certain zones.

September 21 sees light to moderate rain with intermittent thunderstorm activity. Winds are projected at 30‑40 km/h.

On September 22, the rain front deepens, leading to repeated showers across Ranchi and adjoining districts throughout daylight hours.

The most severe impact is slated for September 23, when eastern and western Singhbhum, Sarai Kala‑Kharasawān, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Deoghar and Jamtara could face heavy rainfall. Localised wind gusts may surge to 40‑50 km/h.

September 24 continues the wet spell, especially in the north‑eastern districts and the central region bordering Dhanbad, with alerts for both lightning and strong winds remaining in effect.

On the final day, September 25, scattered heavy rain, thunder and wind speeds of up to 50 km/h are still possible across many parts of the state.

The approaching system will bring a modest temperature decline of roughly 3‑4°C. Authorities urge the public to avoid outdoor activities during periods of heavy rain and thunder.
