Special Film Screening Organized by JFDCL on the Occasion of World Tribal Day

On the occasion of World Tribal Day, under the tribal festival organized on August 9 and 10 at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, a special film screening was organized today at Amar Shaheed Chand-Bhairav Murmu Mandap by Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited (JFDCL).

The program commenced with the esteemed presence of Shri Shukranto Majumdar, Head of Department at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Shri Shilajit Sanyal, Shri Nilanjan Banerjee, actress Ms. Kalyani Khatri, and distinguished Jharkhand film directors Shri Biju Toppo and Shri Niranjan Kujur.

On this occasion, several excellent short films based on tribal life, culture, traditions, and social concerns were screened. These included EPIL, PANCHABHUTA, PAHADA KUDUK, BURO GHAR, THE GIRL WHO LIVED IN THE LOO, LONG LOST HOME, SONDHAYNI, ANGEN, PAPAYA, SARI SARJOM, LADY TARZEN, EDPA KANA, MAN MELODY, and DOLLS. A large number of youths and students from various colleges participated enthusiastically in the film screening.

A special panel discussion on the topic of career in filmmaking was also organized during the program. On this occasion, Shri Shukranto Majumdar from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute shed light on the career opportunities available in the field of sound production. He informed the youth about the various vocational courses, technical training, and employment opportunities offered at the institute, emphasizing the importance of skill development in this field.

Meanwhile, Shri Shilajit Sanyal said that vocational courses related to filmmaking are becoming a powerful medium for youth to realize their dreams. He stated that a large number of youth are showcasing their talent in this field today, making Jharkhand proud at the national and international levels.

Film director Shri Niranjan Kujur shared his experiences related to filmmaking and inspired the youth to move forward in this field with creativity, dedication, and a spirit of continuous learning.

Actress Ms. Kalyani Khatri, addressing the youth, said that the foundation of success in the film industry is discipline, dedication, and continuous hard work. Sharing her struggles and experiences, she inspired the youth to keep striving to fulfill their dreams.

In the panel discussion, experts provided detailed information to the youth about various courses in filmmaking, career opportunities, and available prospects in this field. It is noteworthy that a special masterclass will be organized for the youth on August 10, where they will have a golden opportunity to directly interact with experienced experts on filmmaking, learn, and understand the nuances of film production.
