Soren Outlines Reforms in Education and Agriculture at Independence Day
The chief minister also turned attention to sectors that support the livelihoods of Jharkhand’s people. In agriculture, he cited the 'Birsa Green Village' programme that has planted trees on 2.15 lakh acres. The aim is to transform farming from subsistence to entrepreneurship by encouraging horticulture, dairy, and poultry. On women’s empowerment, Soren referenced the 'Chief Minister Maiyan Samman' scheme, providing financial grants to promote independence among rural women. Health was presented as a pillar of quality of life, with the construction of new medical colleges in six districts and a focus on preventive care and nutrition. All these initiatives are part of a balanced development model that respects the state’s natural resources and tribal heritage.
