Record Bonus of Rs 315 Crore Announced for Tata Steel Workforce

<p>Tata Steel has declared a record‑size employee bonus of Rs 315 crore for the fiscal year 2025‑26 after reaching a consensus with its workers’ union. The signing ceremony featured TV Narendran, Managing Director and Co‑Chief Executive Officer, alongside Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunu, the union president.</p><p>The announced amount exceeds the previous year’s Rs 303.12 crore by Rs 11.88 crore. While the company’s bonus algorithm initially computed Rs 314.53 crore, the figure was rounded up to a clean Rs 315 crore.</p><p>Overall, 25,603 employees from various Tata Steel divisions will be covered. The Jamshedpur complex, which houses the tubes division, accounts for 11,021 beneficiaries and will distribute Rs 163.85 crore, equating to an average of roughly Rs 148,675 per employee.</p><p>Senior‑level staff can earn up to Rs 452,512 depending on actual attendance, whereas NS‑grade personnel are eligible for a top bonus of Rs 128,448 and a floor of Rs 39,016 for full attendance.</p><p>The bonus calculation considered multiple performance metrics: net profit after extraordinary items (Rs 11,035.24 crore), saleable steel output (1.611 crore tonnes), crude steel production (1.726 crore tonnes), employee productivity (674.2 tonnes of crude steel per employee) and a safety index of 0.39 LTIFR.</p>
