Broad daylight turned bloody in Ranchi’s Manitola locality when Tauqir Ansari, a local plumber, gunned down his wife Tarannum Parveen in a fit of rage over his extramarital affair. The incident in Dorunda police limits has ignited outrage, highlighting the perils of unchecked domestic tensions.
The drama began with heated exchanges inside their home, escalating to gunfire that alerted the entire mohalla. Tarannum, affectionately called Rani, was found lifeless, her body riddled with bullets. Tauqir, known locally as Sahab, vanished post-crime, prompting an all-out police operation.
Responding teams from Dorunda thana, under DSP PK Mishra’s guidance, cordoned off the area. FSL personnel scoured the room for ballistic evidence, fingerprints, and other traces. Neighbors recounted the couple’s turbulent marriage, marred by Tauqir’s liaison with another woman, which Tarannum vehemently resisted.
This wasn’t an isolated spat; arguments were a daily affair, sources say. The victim’s three minor children—two boys and a girl—witnessed the family’s unraveling. Her maternal relatives stormed the station, pleading for Tauqir’s immediate arrest and hanging.
DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra detailed the probe: the killing stemmed directly from the affair row. With forensics underway and sketches circulated, police vow to apprehend the killer soon. This case serves as a grim reminder of how personal betrayals can erupt into deadly violence, urging better intervention in marital discord.
