Police launch raids after gunfire breaks out during alcohol party in Ranchi

Ranchi – A gunshot fired during a late‑night drinking party in the Bariyatu jurisdiction has prompted a swift police response. The incident, which took place at approximately 1:55 a.m. on Sunday, left one participant, identified as Tony Lohra, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Emergency services rushed the victim to the RIMS Trauma Centre where his condition is being monitored closely. Eyewitnesses reported that the dispute stemmed from a heated argument over liquor, which quickly escalated to gunfire.

Following the report, the senior DSP, along with the Bariyatu police station's senior officers, arrived on the scene, sealed off the area and began evidence collection. Special teams have started raids on locations believed to harbor the shooters, as part of an ongoing investigation to apprehend all involved.
