Ranchi Police Form SIT to Track High‑Value Theft Linked to Uttar Pradesh Jaguar
Following the high‑profile burglary in Ashok Nagar, Ranchi’s city superintendent directed the creation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to pursue the case. The team, headed by ASP Kotwal, brings together officers from four police stations to pool intelligence and forensic data.
Preliminary findings reveal that the suspects entered Ranchi in a Jaguar registered in Uttar Pradesh, parking the vehicle near Birsa Chowk before checking into a local hotel. Authorities are scrutinising the hotel’s booking details, including the Aadhaar number used for reservation, and have obtained CCTV recordings from both the hotel and nearby traffic cameras.
Police officials have expressed confidence that the accumulated evidence will lead to the swift apprehension of the culprits, emphasizing the city’s zero‑tolerance approach to organized crime.
