Ranchi is buzzing with athletic energy as the 8th B.K. Birla Ranchi District Inter-School Taekwondo Championship 2025-26 officially commenced on Tuesday at Sarla Birla Public School. Organized by the Ranchi District Taekwondo Association, this significant two-day event has drawn over 230 participants from more than 16 schools across the district. Young athletes are showcasing their skills in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls. The opening day featured intense competitions in the Under-14 section, with the Under-17 and Under-19 bouts scheduled to conclude on October 15th. The inauguration ceremony was a vibrant spectacle, starting with a captivating welcome dance that artfully blended Taekwondo techniques with rhythm and movement. Inspirational speeches from distinguished guests and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony added to the electrifying atmosphere. This championship aims to foster physical prowess, mental fortitude, discipline, and fair play among students. Principal Manisha Sharma encouraged participants to give their best while upholding the spirit of sportsmanship, emphasizing Taekwondo’s role in building concentration, respect, and self-belief. She highlighted how such competitions empower students both physically and mentally, instilling valuable lessons in confidence and discipline.
