A development initiative worth approximately ₹2 crore, approved under the DMFT fund for constructing a road and drainage system near Bijuliya Pond, became the backdrop for a hostile encounter between BJP and Congress cadres. The plan, intended to improve local infrastructure, was slated for a ceremony on September 30. As Congress supporters of MLA Mamata Devi began chanting, the arrival of BJP supporters linked to MP Manish Jaiswal sparked reciprocal chanting. What began as a rally of slogans quickly descended into a heated exchange of personal jibes. The altercation was eventually diffused after senior party members intervened, requesting both sides to cease further agitation.
