Prashant Kishor's Party Aide Found Dead After Missing From Train

Prashant Kishor's party, Jan Suraaj, has suffered a serious blow during the MLC polls in Bihar. Devpalik Gupta, who managed the party's digital communication, was found dead in bushes beside a railway track in Anganda block, Jharkhand, days after he disappeared from a moving train.

Devpalik hailed from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh. After graduating from IIMC, he began working with Prashant Kishor and took charge of the party's digital operations.

Details shared so far indicate that Devpalik had travelled from Patna to Ranchi for official work. On Monday, he boarded the Janshatabdi Express with colleagues Gautam and Nishant to head back to Patna. The train left Ranchi at roughly 2:25 pm.

As the train neared Anganda, Devpalik said he was heading to the next coach to buy food. He did not return to his seat. His colleagues waited for about two hours before raising the alarm, searching the entire train without finding him.

At Muri station, they filed a complaint and also informed the Rail Madad app. RPF and GRP teams then took up the case. After an unsuccessful night-time search, officials used a special engine to inspect the railway line at about 10 km per hour.

Near Jarwadih, the team found Devpalik's body stuck in bushes. Early observations by RPF sources suggest that he fell from the moving train.

Police have secured the body and sent it to RIMS for postmortem. The matter is under investigation.
