Police Probe Link Between 2022 Spousal Killing and Recent Mother‑Son Slayings

Law enforcement officials in Deoghar are exploring a possible connection between a 2022 murder of a husband and a fresh double homicide that claimed the lives of Rubida Khatoon and her son Chotu. The latest crime occurred in Navadih village, where unknown attackers broke into the family home and used a sharp implement to slit the throats of the mother‑son duo.

Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar arrived at the crime scene, oversaw the collection of forensic material, and ordered the analysis of video surveillance from surrounding streets. The police have also reopened the 2022 case file to compare forensic findings, weapon type, and any overlapping suspects.

While the motive behind the current killings remains unclear, officials are not ruling out retaliation or a continuing feud within the family. SP Pushkar has instructed his team to fast‑track the investigation, promising the community swift justice based on technical evidence and eyewitness accounts.
