Party cites Supreme Court precedent in demand to drop student cases

The memorandum referenced recent Supreme Court observations that criminal cases filed against peaceful student protesters across the country have been ordered to be withdrawn. It urged the chief secretary to follow the same line in Jharkhand, canceling more than a thousand FIRs lodged against students after their month‑long democratic agitation against the JPSC and JSSC scams. The BJP also called for the immediate arrest of senior commission officials, including the commission chairman, and for all lower‑level staff implicated in the alleged fraud to face legal action.
