In a significant crackdown on illicit alcohol trade, Palamu police have confiscated approximately 2,000 bottles of illegal country liquor. The seizure occurred near the Kajrat Nawadih railway station in the Hussainabad police station area. Authorities discovered the contraband, consisting of ‘Tanaka’ and ‘Chabili’ brands, hidden in bushes. A joint operation involving the Hussainabad Sub-Divisional Police Officer S. Mo Yakub and the RPF Kajrat Nawadih team led to the successful raid. The police team, under the leadership of Dangwar OP in-charge Sonu Kumar Gupta, meticulously searched the area after receiving a tip-off late Monday night. The liquor was found concealed in 23 sacks, with each sack containing four cases, totaling 92 cases and an estimated 2,000 bottles. During the operation, a Splendor Plus motorcycle, bearing registration number JH03 AS 4069, was also seized. Police have apprehended the alleged owner of the liquor, identified as Rajan Kumar Singh, a resident of Kajrat Nawadih in the Hussainabad police station area. He has been taken into judicial custody, and a case has been registered against him at the Hussainabad police station. This operation highlights the district police’s commitment to combating illegal activities and ensuring public safety.
