Palamu District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Samira S conducted a thorough inspection of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Lesliganj on Saturday. The visit focused on assessing the school’s overall arrangements, student attendance, teacher availability, and the condition of the kitchen and hostel facilities. The Deputy Commissioner also gathered information on the ongoing construction work from the junior engineer, emphasizing the need to immediately fix a leaking water tank and install mosquito nets in the girls’ hostels. During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner temporarily took on the role of a teacher, engaging ninth and eleventh-grade students with questions on various subjects. She also examined the laboratory, computer room, kitchen, and storeroom. Prior to this visit, the Deputy Commissioner had met with various officials, assigning them specific schools to inspect. Following the inspection, a meeting was held with the school’s female teachers. Key areas reviewed included the timing of the last Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), the importance of updating student notebooks, and adherence to the curriculum timeline. Several crucial registers, including the SMC register, attendance log, and stock register, were scrutinized. Prima facie discrepancies were found in the stock register, leading to its seizure for a detailed investigation. The Deputy Commissioner stated that this was her second visit and warned that any shortcomings found during her next inspection would result in strict action against the responsible individuals, stressing the importance of maintaining student attendance above 75%. The Deputy Development Commissioner, Javed Hussain, also reviewed the bills related to the school’s expenditure. Concurrently, various officials inspected other schools across the Nilamber-Pitamberpur block, including UPG Rajakrit School Banuwa, Rajakrit Madhya Vidyalaya Parshuramkhap, Rajakrit Uchchavidayalaya Dabra, Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Bhalamanda Bhil, and PM Upgraded +2 School Dhanagaon. Reports from these inspections were later reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner in a meeting with all officials.
