Over 240 Cases Linked to Ajay Mahato Lead to ₹25 Lakh Bounty Capture

Authorities have filed more than 240 criminal cases against Ajay Mahato across eight districts of Jharkhand, including Giridih, West Singhbhum, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Ramgarh, and Saraikela. The highest number of charges—107—are recorded in West Singhbhum, with 68 cases in Giridih. The offences span murders of civilians, killings of suspected police informants, assaults on security forces, and sabotage of development projects. The Special Area Committee (SAC) had offered a reward of ₹25 lakh for information leading to his arrest. The successful operation, led by SP Dr. Bimal Kumar, is expected to weaken Naxal activities and pave the way for peace and development in the region.
