Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan are on alert for rain and gusts that could touch 70‑80 km/h. Central India, including Madhya Pradesh, will continue to experience showers and strong breezes. West Bengal districts are warned of heavy downpours. The northeastern states—Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura—are also likely to receive intense rain with a chance of lightning. In the south, the interior of Karnataka, Kerala, Mahé, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the Kanyakumari region are expected to face brisk rainfall and possible thunderstorms.
