New Processing Units to Boost Agri-Business in Ranchi

The Ranchi district administration is taking a significant step towards industrializing rural agriculture and forest produce. Under the leadership of DC Manjunath Bhajantri, the SIDCOFED board meeting held on Tuesday finalized plans for new processing facilities in the Ormanjhi and Rudia regions. These facilities are designed to process both agricultural crops like millets and forest produce such as Sal and Karanj seeds. By processing these items locally, the administration aims to eliminate middlemen and increase the direct share of profits for the farmers. DC Bhajantri highlighted that the cooperative movement is the backbone of rural development, noting that dozens of new Primary Agriculture Credit Societies are joining the union.
