In the Bermo police station area of Bokaro district, a controversial social media post related to Prophet Muhammad by a man named Ramkinker Pandey sparked outrage among the Muslim community on Saturday. Community members took to the streets and demanded immediate action from the administration. Following the gravity of the situation, Bermo police became active and brought Ramkinker Pandey to the police station for questioning before the situation could escalate. The police stated that the controversial post is being investigated and strict action will be taken if found guilty. During this time, the agitated people surrounded the police station and raised controversial slogans like ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ in front of the administration. The agitated people said that playing with religious sentiments will not be tolerated. The police and administration appealed to the people to maintain peace. Local social workers and intellectuals also appealed to all sections of society to exercise restraint. The Bokaro SP commented on the raising of the slogans ‘Sar Tan Se Juda,’ stating that action is being taken in the entire matter. The SP added that such actions, despite the police addressing their demands, reflect a bad mindset. However, an FIR has been registered, and six people have been arrested. This is a message to those who think they can do whatever they want and try to take the law into their own hands. Attempts are being made by some people to disrupt harmony, which will not be tolerated at all.
