MoU Between Jharkhand Film Development Corporation and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Special Focus on Skill Development of Youth
MoU signing ceremony between Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, held in the august presence of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren.
This step has been taken to materialize the vision of special focus on skill development of Jharkhand's youth. The main objective of Jharkhand Film and Television Institute (JFTI) is to provide world-class technical training and skilling to our youth, especially students interested in mass media and cinema.
In the initial phase of JFTI becoming fully operational, short-duration courses will be introduced. This will include practical training in all major aspects of cinema such as sound designing, editing, animation, script & screenplay writing, cinematography, direction, and film production.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, Jharkhand Film and Television Institute will prove effective in giving new flight to the dreams of the state's youth. This training will provide new opportunities not only in traditional cinema but also in current OTT platforms and social media content creation for the youth.
As a result of the efficient leadership and visionary thinking of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, "Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited" could be formed and the foundation of this new initiative laid.

Ranchi, the state government has created a better platform for the talented and creative youth of Jharkhand. This platform is being formally established today with the cooperation of "Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited", an arm of the Jharkhand government, and "Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata". However, the state government is taking the help of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata for how to work further in this regard, how to expand this institution and this platform. Certainly, today we all are seeing the activities of many artists through various social media, newspapers, and information channels. Some are making films, some are making reels, and some are reaching the general public with their specialities in different fields. It can be said that this is a very creative field, which takes you from a small level to a large commercial sector, where you are in front of the camera and a large army is behind the camera. Even amidst busy schedules, we sometimes get a chance to hear with our ears and see with our eyes. A journey that will provide new technology, world-class facilities, and a new national platform to Jharkhand's talented filmmakers and artists. This is an unforgettable and historic moment.

Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that there are many untouched talents in Jharkhand. Recently, a Santhali movie 'Angen' received a very big award, and the filmmaker is also present here today. In the future, more such awards may come in the field of cinema, provided they need a little honing. This honing work will now be done through Jharkhand Film and Television Institute (JFTI). He said that who doesn't know Satyajit Ray Film Institute? It is one of the foremost institutions in the film world, which introduced the world to cinema. Many films were made in our state, in which Satyajit Ray also worked. While searching on Google in connection with today's program, I found out that many famous films were made in our state, such as Dil Bechara, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Gangs of Wasseypur. Besides, a film of veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was also made in Dhanbad. There is immense potential for film production in the state. Film director Prakash Jha, who needs no introduction today, also received his education in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that a new dimension is about to begin for our youth through this JFTI platform. There was a time when becoming a doctor or engineer was everyone's dream, but today there is so much diversity that you can shape your talent in any field and make your identity. Today, our government has made a small effort in that direction. I hope that in the coming times, this platform will be utilized better for our youth.

Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, referring to SRFTI, Kolkata, said that an experienced institution, recognized not only in the country but worldwide, has such a vast utility and scope that you have the ability to bring about change in your surroundings with your talent. He said that today is a beginning, and we would like to see its positive results in the coming days. Just as our state's youth and students are making a name for themselves in the world of sports on a large scale, there are also possibilities in the field of art. The Chief Minister said, in the context of Jharkhand, that today the line from Dr. Ram Dayal Munda comes to mind, "Je nachi se bachi" (One who dances survives). This means that every common person in this state hides an artist within them. Due to many reasons, perhaps that hidden artist cannot come out. Today, with the cooperation of this institution and Satyajit Ray Film Institute, those artists will be found, brought out, and honed. He said that on this auspicious occasion, I extend my best wishes to all of you and many congratulations to all the artists for a better future.

Among the honored filmmakers were Biju Toppo, a three-time National Film Award recipient; Shri Raviraj Murmu from the Santhal community of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, for whom the National Film Award has been announced for his short film 'Angen'; Shri Anuj Kumar, who has been honored with the 'Canadian Labour International Film Festival Award' for his acclaimed films 'Belonging to Untouchable God' and 'The Turtle Story'; and Shri Niranjan Kujur, who was awarded the National Film Award for the Kudukh film 'Edpa Kana', were honored for their excellent, honest, and outstanding artistic journeys.
