Morabadi Ground to Host JESOWA Diwali Mela in Ranchi
The Jharkhand IAS Officers Wives Association (JESOWA) has announced a five-day Diwali mela at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, scheduled from October 29 to November 2.
A JESOWA delegation met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren on Tuesday to discuss the event. The delegation personally invited the Chief Minister and his family to attend the mela.
The programme seeks to nurture art, culture, handicrafts and local talent. Several activities are planned across the five days to support these objectives.
The mela will feature more than 300 stalls. Entrepreneurs, artisans and rural women entrepreneurs from different regions of the country will display and sell their products at these stalls.
The stalls will carry traditional attire, fashion accessories, handmade products, decorative materials and various indigenous goods. The mela's central purpose is to offer local artisans, women entrepreneurs and small businesses a better opportunity to showcase and sell their creations.
Visitors will also benefit from having diverse shopping options available at one site.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the Chief Minister about the social welfare programmes and activities the organisation runs in the state. It also briefed him on the preparations and framework of the Diwali mela and urged him to attend.
The delegation comprised JESOWA President Priti Kumari, Vice President Anita Singh, Secretary Manu Jha, Joint Secretary Shweta Shukla, Treasurer Shivani Singh, and executive committee members Ranjana Kumar and Divya Shree.
