Northwest, Eastern and Southern India Brace for Continued Monsoon

The monsoon remains active across the subcontinent. In the west, Konkan and Goa are expected to receive heavy rainfall until August 25, with central Maharashtra and Marathwada seeing increased rain activity. Gujarat and the Saurashtra‑Kutch region may experience intermittent showers till the end of the month. The northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are under warning for widespread rain, with some areas likely to receive heavy downpours. South Indian states – Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and parts of Tamil Nadu – are also under alerts for rain and thunderstorms.
