Monsoon Remains Active in Jharkhand Through August 21, Officials Warn

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the monsoon will stay active over Jharkhand until at least 21 August. Continuous cloud cover is expected across the state on Sunday, with potential rain showers in Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Saraikela‑Kharsawan.

While the overall weather may stay pleasant in many districts, intermittent heavy rain and occasional thunderstorms could arise, especially in the southern and western parts of the state.

Wind speeds are forecasted to reach 30‑40 km per hour, prompting officials to advise the public to avoid outdoor activities during periods of intense rain. Residents should also stay away from high‑voltage structures and keep an eye on official weather alerts.
