Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, Deepika Singh Pandey, reviewed the progress and implementation of the department’s work plans at Project Bhawan. The minister emphasized the need to strengthen the foundation of rural development at the Panchayat level and urged for making Panchayat secretariats more active and accountable. She instructed officials to ensure that solutions to villagers’ problems are addressed locally, eliminating the need for them to visit district headquarters. The minister reviewed the progress, implementation speed, transparency, and quality of various schemes run by the department, directing that all schemes reach the target groups effectively, transparently, and in a timely manner. The minister highlighted the government’s intention to strengthen the Panchayati system to establish village governance on the ground and ensure the participation of every citizen. Discussions were held on the status of schemes, review reports, and upcoming work plans. The minister asked officials to conduct regular field visits and ensure timely resolution of problems. The meeting was attended by departmental secretary Manoj Kumar and director B. Rajeshwari, along with several senior officials.
