Mega Helpdesks to Assist Voters Across Jharkhand Ahead of Oct 10

The Chief Electoral Officer, K. Ravi Kumar, announced that on October 10 a network of mega helpdesks will be operational at every polling station throughout Jharkhand. These desks are intended to simplify the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) notice hearing process for voters.

Each helpdesk will be staffed with trained officials capable of explaining the hearing procedure, recording objections, and guiding applicants on how to add their names to the electoral roll. The goal is to prevent any eligible citizen from being excluded simply because of missing documents or lack of information.

K. Ravi Kumar emphasized that the assistance will be especially focused on tribal communities, scheduled castes, persons with disabilities, senior citizens and other vulnerable groups. Outreach teams will be dispatched to remote villages to ensure that eligible voters receive the help they need.

The Chief Electoral Officer also directed district election officers to engage with political party representatives to surface local concerns and resolve them swiftly. Officers were asked to monitor the entire revision process closely, identify practical bottlenecks and eliminate them on a time‑bound basis.

A rapid digitisation drive for Forms 6, 7 and 8 gathered from Booth Level Officers was ordered, with a special camp to be conducted by the following Monday. BOLOs must certify that no eligible citizen in their jurisdiction is being denied enrollment and confirm that all necessary actions have been taken.
