A devastating overnight fire in the Deepugada area of Hazaribagh has resulted in the complete destruction of two businesses housed within a single building. The blaze engulfed a clothing store and the Park View Restaurant & Banquet Hall, leading to an estimated loss of millions in property. The fire escalated rapidly, consuming both establishments within minutes. Flames also spread to a nearby medical shop, but prompt action by locals and the fire department prevented significant damage to that location. The official cause of the inferno remains under investigation, though a short circuit is suspected as the initial trigger. Owners of the affected businesses, Vikas Yadav of the restaurant and Ajit Kumar Mehta of the clothing store, reported losses ranging from 80 to 90 lakh rupees. Mr. Yadav, who was sleeping on the lower level of the building, was alerted by smoke and raised the alarm, prompting the Hazaribagh Fire Brigade’s swift response. Firefighters battled the intense flames for three to four hours before finally extinguishing the blaze. Crucially, they managed to safely remove gas cylinders from the restaurant, averting a potentially catastrophic explosion. The incident caused considerable panic in the area, which was managed by police who arrived on the scene. Authorities confirmed the fire is out and an investigation is underway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
