Lost Phones Returned to Owners After Special Campaign Across Jharkhand

Ranchi – On Friday, Jharkhand Police concluded a special initiative aimed at locating and returning lost mobile phones. By deploying the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal across all 24 districts, the force successfully recovered a total of 1,114 devices.

The most productive district was Koderma, where 177 phones were found. Giridih followed with 105 recoveries and Saraikela contributed 103, bringing the collective total to a state‑wide achievement. Each recovered handset was matched with its owner via the CEIR database before being handed over.

The breakdown by district includes: Ranchi‑47, Gumla‑31, Lohardaga‑9, Khunti‑28, Simdega‑63, Jamshedpur‑22, Chaibasa‑26, Saraikela‑103, Palamu‑97, Garhwa‑38, Latehar‑20, Bokaro‑60, Dhanbad‑22, Hajari Bag‑39, Koderma‑177, Giridih‑105, Chatra‑14, Ramgarh‑61, Dumka‑15, Deoghar‑9, Jamtara‑17, Godda‑21, Pakur‑36, Sahebganj‑54. The swift resolution has been welcomed by the public, highlighting the utility of the CEIR system in combating mobile theft.
