Kodarma Police Bust Fake Liquor Factory, Arrest Two Smugglers

Kodarma's law enforcement struck a major blow to bootleggers, raiding a derelict poultry farm turned illicit distillery in Chandwara. Acting on intelligence, SP Anudeep Singh formed a team under Chandwara SHO Shashibhushan Kumar, targeting Piyush Kumar Pandey's hideout where fake alcohol was brewed and dispatched on a massive scale.

The dramatic raid saw suspects scattering at the sight of police, with pursuers nabbing Kanhaiya Kumar from Patna and Gopal Singh from Gaya. Their statements exposed a syndicate including Piyush, Ayush Pandey, Ankit Kumar, and locals Mahesh Saw, Sunil and Santosh Kushwaha, all collaborating in production and transport.

Searches uncovered a treasure trove of illicit goods: 191.2 liters of spurious liquor worth over Rs 1.3 lakh, 120 liters spirit, hundreds of branded bottles and empties, thousands of caps, sticker rolls mimicking official logos, suspicious chemicals in jars, and the smuggling Swift Dzire (BR 01FL 6469). Additional finds included water gallons and mobiles.

With no legal papers produced, everything was confiscated. Arrests followed, FIR lodged under stringent laws including Bihar Nagri Shoshan Samiti and Excise provisions. Fugitives remain at large as teams scour the area, verifying backgrounds and tracing accomplices.

This haul highlights the dangers of spurious liquor, often laced with toxic chemicals, and police commitment to dismantling such hazardous operations across Jharkhand.
